Andi Cockbill, a Loughborough graduate and CleverTouch Eloqua specialist, details how he’s building a relationship with the University to support students and develop talent.Over the last year, we’ve sponsored a module on the computer science course at Loughborough University. The module, Advanced Web Design, was undertaken during students’ first semester of the academic year. We agreed to set aside a prize fund for the most outstanding coursework pieces in order to entice students into producing their best quality work; offering prizes to the best entry from each year group. The students were tasked with creating a website utilising HTML5 and CSS3.Over the course of the assignment, we visited the University and presented on the topic of advanced web design; discussing how it’s used in practice here at CleverTouch. We also attended a placement careers fair for the entire science department. In February, the two winners were announced. Many congratulations to 2nd year student, Matthew Dixon, and final year student, Stuart Barber, your work was extremely impressive. As we’ve been invited to sponsor the same module again next year – could you be the 2015 winner?High quality design and a dedicated work ethos is exactly what we expect of our tech teams at CleverTouch and we could easily see the two winners fitting in nicely. We’re always looking to recruit graduates, but also offer a number of placements to students before they graduate. If you’d like to find out more take a look at our careers page or contact us directly.
