Christmas, for most, is a time of drinking, eating, laughter and hangovers.
A festive period of overindulgence, merry and family.
But for some, it is a cold and lonely season of scarcity and hardship.

As a member of the former group, I often find it hard to think about the difficulties of the latter as I’m wrapped up in preparations, shopping and social events.  For many of us, it is all too easy to become entangled in the stresses of the festive season and the endless struggle of uniting the family for a day

But for those who are out on the street in these harsh, winter months, their worries are a far cry away from our own, and it is up to those who have a family and a home this Christmas to do their bit. We are a community after all. This year, the Winchester Churches Nightshelter are running a charity event called the Reverse Advent Calendar Challenge. As part of our commitment to support local communities and charities, Clevertouch Consulting has been involved in this since the start of the month, and we will be donating our bit on Thursday 19th December

The WCS are a homeless charity based in Winchester, and a recipient of the prestigious Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. They provide beds, food and support for those experiencing homelessness, and their calendar challenge is simply asking for people to donate food over the Christmas calendar period. Here at Clevertouch, we urge you to get involved, and buy an item you would like to donate each day on the run up to Christmas, and then give it to the Nightshelter on the dates given below. It’s not a big ask, but it would make a huge difference to those who have no home this winter.

Everyone at Clevertouch wishes you a very merry Christmas and a happy new year!
Keep an eye out for all the exciting things 2020 looks set to bring…

Christmas donations can be dropped off at the Nightshelter on Tuesdays 8.30am-4pm, Wednesdays 8.30am-1pm and Thursdays 8.30am-1pm. If you are unable to come on these days and times, please email or call to make alternative arrangements.admin@wcns.org.uk01962 862050
