A common issue which affects every user who imports data to Marketo is the alignment of fields on a spreadsheet to the fields in Marketo.
A piece of Marketo functionality often forgotten is the ‘List Import Alias’. This enables you to assign multiple values for what a field column may be named upon import. This is especially useful if you receive spreadsheets from multiple people or departments across the business which all have different ways of storing and naming data columns.
Under ‘Field Management’ within ‘Admin’, select the fields most frequently imported, then click ‘Edit Import Alias’.
Enter the possible aliases.
Now when a CSV file is in the upload steps, the Marketo field is automatically assigned!
