Using Marketo Engagement Engine for frequent communications

Marketing content such as newsletters is typically sent from the Email Send program and Smart Campaigns. However, this isn’t best practice as it requires multiple steps to build the Marketo components to send the email.

If Marketing departments send a high volume of newsletters, using the Engagement Program to a fixed audience improves efficiency as marketers only need to focus on building content, rather than additional Marketo components.

Using Smart Campaigns to initially add the target audience into the Engagement Program Stream ensures all your contacts are in one place.

Using this process means when an email is built as a local asset to the program, it can be dragged into the appropriate stream. The example below being a month by month newsletter stream. The pre-defined cadence will then determine the sending time.
